Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary loan services allow members of the college to access materials from other libraries. GCC cooperates with libraries nationwide to lend and borrow materials to support research and education.
If there is a book or article that we don’t have in our collection, we can request it from another library.
- This is done directly from our databases (Click “Get Full Text“) or from our library catalog (Click “Get it“).
- *Note: Sometimes, clicking on “Get Full Text” will redirect you to another GCC library database if we have access to the article there.
- At the “Sign in to see request options” message, log in with your myGCC account/GCC username and password.
- Click on the arrow on the right-hand side of the screen.
- Scroll down and click on “Send Request.
- Note: If you can’t find the item you’re looking for in the GCC library catalog or SUNY catalog, search in WorldCat.org to help you fill out a blank ILL form.
- Keep checking your GCC email; you will receive an email when the book or article has arrived.
- View and manage your requests by logging into My Library Account.
- Watch the video below for a demonstration of requesting a book.
Requests are processed Monday-Friday, except during holidays or closures. For more information, please contact libraryILL@genesee.edu.
Current GCC students/faculty/staff, emeritus faculty, visiting faculty, and Board of Trustees are eligible. Online learners may only request interlibrary loan materials that can be delivered electronically (i.e. articles). Items cannot be mailed to you.
Please request your items as early as possible before your assignment deadline.
