Please visit Coronavirus (COVID-19) GCC Response Information for details on current operations. Learn how students can verify their vaccination status.
Tutoring for all GCC students is available free of charge by professional and peer tutors. During the current closure of all GCC campuses, we have moved all tutoring online. We are offering tutoring online for: accounting, math, writing, chemistry, physics, general biology, anatomy & physiology, American Sign Language, and success skills.
Schedule an Online Appointment
All tutors can be found through TutorTrac's schedule, which all GCC students have access to. Visit TutorTrac using Chrome or FireFox. Sign in with your GCC NetID and password. The rest of the instructions can be found in our Instructions for TutorTrac Online.
We offer several workshops each term. Workshops are held synchronously (where you can attend live via Zoom or in person) and asynchronously (no live sessions). All session materials are provided in our Online Learning Center Blackboard organization.
To sign up to attend any of the workshops:
- Log in to TutorTrac.
- Select "Search Availability".
- Choose Workshops for "Center".
- Select the workshop you would like to attend.
The link to the Zoom room where the workshop will be held will appear in your TutorTrac main menu 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. View the schedule for upcoming workshops.
Learning Center Resources
All of our resources are available in our Blackboard organization called the Learning Center. The Learning Center is a community of GCC tutors and student learners coming together to support academic goals across the campus. In this organization we store recordings of and materials for workshops, have discussion boards, and offer success resources. As a GCC student you can enroll and un-enroll yourself.
If you would like your paper looked at and commented upon by a writing tutor but you don’t have time for an appointment, you can email your paper to email@example.com (from your GCC account). Tutors are not editors or proofreaders, but they can help identify patterns or mistakes you make in your writing.
STAR-NY tutoring is also still available! Tutoring is available for select courses and disciplines Sunday through Thursday 7pm-midnight via STAR-NY. Please see the Online Tutoring page for more information.
If you need additional assistance or resources to help you be successful, email firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll do our best to help you. There are additional resources in the Tutoring Module within myGCC.
