8th Annual Student Digital Photo Contest Winners
On Thursday, November 29, 2018, the library hosted its eighth annual Student Digital Photo Contest Awards Ceremony. Six awards were given.

Best Body of Work: Stacy Mullet
Artist Statement: "These photos are part of a photographic nature study. I started shooting in early spring when my black and white film class was starting to wrap up. My goal was not just to show the beauty of nature and it's persistence, but also the hidden and taken for granted parts of nature. So often we fail to stop and enjoy what's around us, especially in our own backyard."

Best Abstract: Olivia Kohorst
Artist Statement: "My personal photographic style varies with my mood, one minute I enjoy keeping my photos raw and natural and the next I like to edit them to create a fantastic abstract."
Best Portrait: Teagan Mathes
Artist Statement: "My photography is typically inspired by nature, usually the wildlife surrounding myhouse. This photo is a Eurasian Eagle Owl, taken at Alligator Adventure in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina."
Best Use of Humor: Nathan Maniscalso
Artist Statement: "I found this 'dead end' sign stuck in the ground at the graveyard across the Harvester Theatre, all the way in the back. This is one of my favorite cemeteries to explore."
Director's Choice: Kevin Lair
Artist Statement: "This photo was an assignment for my black & white photography class which required us to take a photo of a body part. My subject is my basset hound Flash."
