Construction Management (BS)

This four-year degree program, featuring the first two years at GCC and the final bachelor’s degree from Alfred State, includes all aspects of construction management through technical and business courses. The program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education. As part of the program, Alfred State students compete annually in the Associated Schools of Construction Northeast Region.

Students also can compete for scholarships given by the Associated General Contractors of NY. Students further gain valuable work experience through summer employment with construction companies.

Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2 / Trigonometry, SAT and/or ACT scores with a recommended combined reading/writing and math SAT score of 1080 or a composite ACT score of 21. Physics is recommended.

Minimum GPA of 2.0

  • Students must have the ability to use industry standard software and computers
  • Students must have a laptop computer that meets program specifications
  • Students must have the ability to traverse varying types of construction sites


  • Create written communications, oral presentations, a construction project safety plan, cost estimates and project schedules
  • Analyze professional decision based on ethics, and documents for planning and management
