• Audio Production is for GCC faculty, staff and student recording, mixing, and duplication. A small recording/editing room allows for cassette and CD recording, mixing and editing.

  • Conversion and Duplication of VHS and digital video to DVD and vice versa in support of college and/or instructional purposes. Audio CDs, cassettes, and LP's may be converted to CD or cassette. Multiple video and audio dubs can be made. Data CD's (CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW) may also be duplicated. All media duplication must be permitted by copyright or license agreement.

  • Picture and Document Scanning of photographs and documents may be scanned and saved as electronic documents, as permitted by copyright.

  • Tandberg Videoconferencing Units are portable and allow transmission via IP videoconferencing among GCC's seven campus locations, as well as other colleges, high schools or business locations, regionally and worldwide. Tandberg units are ideal for small group interaction, with each monitor measuring 42".
    Instruction in use of videoconferencing classrooms and equipment is necessary and required. Please call Media Services to schedule user training well in advance at (585) 343-0055 ext. 6349.

  • Television Service can provide instructional content off cable with recording (per copyright guidelines).

  • Video and DVD Production is arranged by appointment for instructional or promotional productions in cooperation with faculty and staff for promotions, orientations, guest presenters or special events. Call (585) 343-0055 ext. 6349 for assistance with project planning, scripting, production and post-production (editing) services. Media Services can also assist students with course-related video projects.

  • Video Linked Classrooms are multitasking environments that allow point-to-point or multipoint videoconferencing. These classrooms include a permanent instructor camera, student camera, PC, document camera, VCR and DVD player, and laptop computer (not supplied). All are controlled using a Crestron touch panel and displayed by ceiling mounted projectors and large screen monitors. Local and distant sites can be recorded. They can connect to all GCC locations, as well as other colleges, high schools or business locations, regionally and worldwide via point-to-point or multipoint IP (Internet) videoconferencing.

  • Video Streaming to be watched on a computer throughout any GCC wired campus network.

  • Video Displays are located in the North and South lobbies of the Conable Technology Building and various locations throughout the college and Campus Centers. Faculty, staff, and student clubs (through Student Activities) may use video walls to advertise upcoming events via a PowerPoint slide show, display student work, play video clips, or display special events throughout the Batavia Campus.

  • Videoconferencing provides live, interactive video connections. Media Services supports seven eLearning classrooms and two portable videoconferencing units ("Tandberg"). Facilities and equipment are used in support of Genesee credit and noncredit classes, workforce development courses, interactive video conference meetings, "virtual field trips," interviews, guest speakers, and other special events.

  • Other Services such as equipment on loan for faculty, staff and certain equipment for student or community use can be requested. Media Services reserves the right to deny a request.

Service Requests

Please request audio and video production, cable recording, and video conferencing services at least one week in advance. CD duplication and picture scanning are available on a walk-in basis.
