Employer Guidelines

Career Services is not a recruitment, placement, or personnel service. Information about employment opportunities will be made available to all students/alumni/community members when posted through our online job bulletin. Our office reserves the right to edit, remove, or refuse any job posting. Third party recruiters are welcome but must reveal, confidentially, the name of the company for which they are recruiting. Employers offering entrepreneurial opportunities with commission-only compensation packages, or requiring prospective employees to purchase products/services or recruit other individuals to sell products/services, will not be permitted to post their opportunities on our online job bulletin, recruit on campus, or attend any career fairs.

In order to provide fair and equitable services to our students, alumni, employers and community members, Career Services will adhere to the following guidelines for all recruiting activities sponsored by our office. Employer representatives are expected to comply with all federal and state Equal Employment Opportunity regulations in their recruitment and hiring practices. Consideration should be afforded to all candidates without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, military status, domestic violence victim status, predisposing genetic characteristics, veteran status, or any other protected classes.

The guidelines below apply to all employers posting employment opportunities for Genesee Community College students/alumni/community members through the institution's Career Services Office, its online job bulletin, and all recruiting activities. Career Services offers assistance to employers in adherence to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) ethical standards as outlined in Principles for Professional Conduct for Career Services & Employment Professionals.
