Alumni Hall of Fame

Lifetime achievement, for many, is a road that begins at GCC. That is why the Genesee Community College Foundation created the Alumni Hall of Fame to recognize those alumni who have achieved outstanding success and made a lasting impact on their community.

Each year, our Alumni Hall of Fame Selection Committee considers your nominations and selects deserving new inductees. A plaque featuring the inductees’ pictures and biographies is displayed in our Alumni Hall of Fame, located on the 2nd floor of the Conable Technology Building.

Candidates must meet selection criteria. Download an Alumni Hall of Fame Nomination Form to review the criteria and make your nomination, or contact the Alumni Office directly at 585-343-0055 x6265.

Selection Process

Completed Nomination Forms will be considered by the Alumni Hall of Fame Selection Committee. Final selections will be made and the Committee will personally notify the nominees who have been selected.

President and CEO, Tencar

Georgann Carrubba graduated from GCC’s Nursing program in 2003. Her medical skills were complemented by not only a passion in caring for her patients, but also her keen sense of awareness of her patients’ needs. This included the struggles of ostomy patients (people living with an alternative method for solid waste disposal). Within the next decade, the registered nurse would become an inventor and develop a new prosthetic appliance, The Choice Cap, designed for active lifestyle for colostomy and ilesotomy patients.

She then founded a new company, Tencar, that provides high quality products for ostomates, dramatically improving their quality of life. Carrubba now holds three patents on The Choice Cap product line and has acquired over $400,000 in investments to manufacture and market her new product. In addition, GCC’s Board of Trustees approved her Start-Up New York application this past June.
