Submit an Abstract
Submissions have closed for the 2019 Symposium. The deadline for submissions for the 2020 Scholar Symposium is March 13, 2020.
Genesee Community College Undergraduate Research & Creative Activities (CURCA) committee invites all GCC students, faculty and staff to submit proposals to present their work at the Scholars' Symposium. Abstracts describing students' scholarly and/or creative projects must be submitted at the link below.
To have your work considered for presentation at GCC’s annual Scholar’s Symposium, please summarize your project into a single-paragraph that must be well-written and carefully crafted.
Abstracts shall be no less than 100 words and no more than 200 words. The Scholars Symposium Committee strictly enforces these limits.
Abstracts are used by the Symposium Committee to determine if a student proposal is ready for acceptance or needs further development. Abstracts will also appear in the printed program for Scholars Symposium.
The Committee understands that some abstracts may be submitted prior to finalizing the presentation or project, so we request that you describe your anticipated results, conclusions, or whatever is yet unfinished. You may be asked to edit your abstract for the final printed version of the Scholars Symposium program.
For best results in submitting your abstract, please review the Abstract guidelines available in the Library LibGuide. Working with a faculty mentor is also required.
Abstracts should be submitted in plain text on the online application form. If you would like formatting such as italics added to your abstract prior to printing the program (if your presentation is accepted), you will have an opportunity to inform us.
