Study Abroad: Ireland

Study Culture and Human Relations in Rural Ireland: May 31– June 14, 2017

Join Genesee Community College professors, Charley and Connie Boyd, on a two-week educational trip to the Heart of Ireland. Participants will stay in the town of Nenagh in County Tipperary - about 1 1/2 hours from Galway to the west and Dublin to the east. Students will explore the area around Nenagh and travel to such places as Trinity College in Dublin, various Neolithic sites, County Cork (and the Titanic Museum), Galway City (with Trad on the Prom), Bunratty Castle, the Cliffs of Moher, Blarney Castle, and much more. We will study the art, history and mythology of Ireland. Students will also learn some Irish language, dances and songs, and they will learn to play the Irish tin whistle and take a baking class.

Students will enroll in two courses in this study abroad trip.
