Business and Commerce

The Tourism and Hospitality Degree Program has been instrumental in helping me to build a foundation for my future goals. The overview of the industry and the hands on experiences offered were top notch and backed text book information with real world experiences.

This program has introduced me to a network of people whom have not only taught me in the classroom but have supported and encouraged me to do great things with my degree.

Going into college, deciding to go with the Tourism and Hospitality Management program, I was slightly uneasy. As soon as my first semester started, I knew I made the right choice. The best part about the program was the hands on opportunities. The fact that you can learn, enjoy yourself, and add to your resume is very beneficial to one’s future.

As a Travel Club member, I was able to be a part of a team, discuss potential destinations, do research on the destinations, and actually plan the trip. Students are able to participate in events, such as; assisting in fundraising events for Homecare and Hospice.

Another hands-on opportunity is the ability to be a part of the annual fashion show. GCC is infamous for the yearly fashion shows and they are the largest fashion shows in Western New York. There are a variety of courses to choose from, all of which are exciting and interesting.

Another factor that made the program so great was the professors and teachers. They are all extremely helpful and available to assist students. Without the help of my teachers, professors, and advisor, I wouldn’t be where I am. They have connections and teach you how to network with the ‘right people’ so as soon as graduation rolls around, a student will know what they want to do, where they want to go, and how they want to live their lives.
