Are you interested in a career in healthcare or health care related field? This program can be a springboard for a variety of degrees and health related professions. The program provides the opportunity to explore a wide range of health-related fields, while providing foundational skills in science, mathematics, communication, social science, and other liberal arts courses. In addition, the Health Studies program offers the necessary courses that are used as acceptance criteria for all of our Allied Health programs.

Associate In Science (AS)

AS Program Learning Outcomes (PLO)

Upon completion of the AS degree students will be able to:

  1. Apply critical reading and thinking skills needed to read scientific or health related literature.
  2. Employ proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Demonstrate foundational knowledge (natural science, social science, health) to gain admission to selected allied health care programs.
  4. Describe personal health behaviors within integrative dimensions of health that promote prevention of common illness, injury, addiction, disease, disability or death.
  5. Identify factors that may influence health and wellness.
