The Online Western New York Learning (OWL) Alliance consists of six SUNY community colleges in the WNY region working together to ensure student success in online learning. GCC is a founding OWL member. OWL provides an affordable opportunity for students to earn a SUNY associate degree or certificate in any of 34 academic areas. GCC offers 13 fully online programs.

OWL enables students who are fully matriculated (enrolled) at GCC, to take online courses from other schools, which best fit their schedules. Working adults can effectively and affordably earn an online degree or certificate by seamlessly pooling courses taken from GCC and a combination of OWL member colleges.

The six OWL colleges are Corning, Erie, Finger Lakes, Genesee, Jamestown and Monroe Community Colleges. All are fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and fully authorized by the New York State Dept. of Education and SUNY, to offer online degrees in the specified areas. For information about online degrees available through OWL colleges, see http://owlwny.com.

Each OWL college has a designated “concierge,” a trained online specialist who handles questions and concerns of online students, facilitates enrollment, advisement and assists with academic progress. Judie Littlejohn, jmlittlejohn@genesee.edu or (585) 345 6969, is GCC’s concierge.
