Introduction to Theatrical Design

Introduces theories and practices of theatrical design. Emphasizes scene design, property design, costume and/or makeup design, lighting design, and design collaboration skills. One lecture, four lab hours. Prerequisite: THE 106.

Course Learning Outcomes:

1. Analyze the different areas of theatrical design.
2. Create functional designs for all major areas of theatrical design (scenic, props, sound, lighting, costumes, makeup).
3. Complete all assigned roles in a production environment.
4. Reflect on one’s own contribution to a production environment.
