Presents CPR skills and AED essentials for the professional rescuer. Provides information on a total community approach to reducing deaths from cardiovascular disease and respiratory emergencies. American Red Cross certification available upon satisfactory completion of course requirements.

Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Describe how the Emergency Medical System works.
2. Identify the signals of primary breathing emergencies.
3. Identify the risk factors for cardiovascular disease.
4. Identify the signals of a possible heart attack.
5. Demonstrate proper use of the bag valve mask.
6. Demonstrate the essential life-saving skills of CPR, rescue breathing and clearing an obstructed airway on adults, children and infants.
