Introduction to Engineering
Introduces engineering disciplines and aspects of professionalism, as well as, the fundamental principles used in engineering analysis and design. Students will gain experience and skills in the application of these principles to projects and case studies. Legal aspects of the engineering profession will be reviewed and discussed. Prerequisite or Co-requisite: MAT 140 or higher

Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Name/identify a variety of examples of the types of projects that engineers in different disciplines (majors) regularly encounter.
2. Use basic governing equations with free body diagrams to solve engineering problems.
3. Describe the iterative procedure for the Engineering design process.
4. Discuss in detail the characteristics of an engineering discipline (major) based upon the study of a successful organization.
5. Apply the software product PSPICE or similar software to develop electrical circuit data.
6. Describe the “Golden Triangle” constraints associated with Project Management.
7. Differentiate between analytic and creative problem solving.
8. Describe examples of future challenges that engineers will address in a global marketplace.
