Organizational Behavior

This course concentrates on analysis of factors impacting individual and organizational success in today’s rapidly changing business environment. Students will explore topics such as personality, motivation, ethics, diversity, and organizational structure. Focus will also be placed on development of interpersonal skills including communication, teamwork, decision making, leadership, and conflict resolution through applied classwork and assignments.

Course Learning Outcomes:

1. Describe the importance of ethics in organizational behavior.
2. Describe the importance of diversity in organizational behavior.
3. Explain the impact of individual differences in personality and attitude on organizational behavior.
4. Prepare a self-assessment using at least two personality measurement tools.
5. Evaluate theories related to various organizational behavior principles such as motivation, performance management, or leadership.
6. Describe various organizational behavior best practices in areas such as communication, teamwork, decision making, management of political behavior, or conflict resolution.
7. Apply organizational behavior best practices to various organizational situations.
8. Explain the effect of various processes or structures on organizational behavior which may include job design, organizational structure, culture, or change management.
9. Evaluate at least five organizational concepts foundational to organizational behavior.
10. Demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills in a professional setting.
