Exploring Business Opportunities

Examines the personal characteristics of an entrepreneur. Conducts an investigation of a business opportunity and identifies required business criteria prior to start-up. Presents the basic foundations for entrepreneurial success. Useful for anyone interested in understanding the issues involved in starting his/her own business immediately or in the future. Not open to students with credit in BUS225.

1. Identify the competencies of successful entrepreneurs.
2. Apply creative problem solving techniques to internal and external business factors in determining entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial opportunities.

4. Formulate a business concept that aligns with personal and professional goals.
5. Evaluate the feasibility of a business concept utilizing basic business acumen.
6. Develop an organized, substantive, concise pitch framing a business concept.
7. Deliver an effective oral pitch outlining a business concept.
