ATH201 - Competitive Women's Volleyball Fundamentals I

Credits: 1

Catalog Description: Focuses on advanced volleyball skill development, competition techniques and strategy for highly skilled, first-year participants in competitive women’s volleyball. One and one-half class hours. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.

Lecture: 1.5 hrs.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs):
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Complete a skills assessment test of a basic fundamental skill (position specific) in competitive women's volleyball.*
2. Submit a 2-3 page paper on a topic related to fundamental skill development.
3. Exhibit leadership skills by directing the team in a minimum of 2 team bonding exercises.

* This course objective has been identified as a student learning outcome that must be formally assessed as part of the Comprehensive Assessment Plan of the college. All faculty teaching this course must collect the required data and submit the required analysis and documentation at the conclusion of the semester to the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment.
