Principles of Event Management
Examines all aspects of event management, ranging from feasibility studies and operational planning to the importance of customer service. Evaluates marketing strategies that minimize risks and maximize audience satisfaction. The semester project entails producing an event. Spring only.

Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Classify and describe events according to their size, shape and requirements.
2. Discuss a minimum of five ethical issues relevant to event management.
3. Plan the logistical requirements of at least one event using creativity.
4. Analyze at least five of the factors that contribute to event feasibility, including sustainability.
5. Explain the legal compliance requirements of event management.
6. Promote at least one event.
7. Develop a comprehensive event budget.
8. Assess a minimum of four risks involved in event management.
9. Develop a comprehensive crowd management plan for an event.
10. Demonstrate proper customer service skills while planning an event.
