Lab for RCP116
RCPLB4 is the application of didactic instruction for RCP116 and a required co-requisite. Skills and performance in RCPLB4 are assessed as a component of RCP116 and therefore must be successfully completed in addition to all the requirements for RCP116. Corequisite: RCP116. Prerequisite: RCP114 and RCP115 each with a grade of ‘C’ or higher.

Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Set up a variety of mechanical ventilators with appropriate parameters for the complex respiratory patient with time sensitivity.
2. Perform patient assessment for corrective action on the ventilators when in specialty modes with time sensitivity.
3. Trouble shoot and respond to ventilator alarms of specialty modes with time sensitivity.
4. Perform a patient wean from the ventilator with time sensitivity.
5. Relate patient assessment and ventilator data to weaning scenarios.
