Cardiopulmonary Pharmacology
Introduces general pharmacological principles and management relative to the cardiopulmonary system. Includes management and treatment of specific cardiopulmonary disorders and drugs used in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS). Prerequisite: RCP117.

Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Identify the various drugs and their utilization (antibiotic, antiviral, antitubercular, and antifungal)
2. Describe the pharmacological effects of various drugs (antiarrhythnics, inotropes, diuretics and vasodilators, antiviral and antifungal)
3. Describe indications for various drugs including antihypertensive, anticoagulant, antiplatelet and thrombolytic agents.
4. Explain how neuromuscular blocking agents impede nerve transmission.
5. Describe how various cardiorespiratory drugs effect respiration.
6. Identify the various pathogens associated with hospital-acquired diseases and describe the manifestations of the illness.
7. Describe the pharmacological effects of the drugs commonly used to treat cardiovascular emergences and cardiac arrest and shock.
8. Discuss the role of xanthine as respiratory stimulants.
9. Describe the use of anti-inflammatory agents as they relate to the respiratory disease process.
10. Develop a pharmacotherapy care plan associated this appropriate monitoring parameters (CoARC)
