Analyzes theories and research in adult development. Emphasizes the interactive effects of all areas of development along with the interaction of heredity and environment. Prerequisite: PSY104.

Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Critique a current empirical research study on the psychology of adulthood and aging for methodological soundness.
2. Review and accurately report findings from a given research study on the psychology of adulthood and aging.
3. Discuss two examples that illustrate how multiple variables interact to shape the three developmental domains (physical/motor, psychosocial, and cognitive).
4. Discuss the key concepts from at least two major theories of adult development.
5. Discuss the major changes that occur in the developmental domains during the three major stages of adult development.
6. Apply research findings in adult development to daily life experiences.
7. Discuss Kubler-Ross’ stages of death and dying.
8. Apply American Psychological Association (APA) style to the writing of research papers.
9. Utilize discipline-specific library resources.
