Learning at the College Level

This course will provide students with the basic tools necessary to compile and assemble a learning portfolio, which may be used as the basis for the awarding of college credit for learning acquired outside of the classroom.

Course Learning Outcomes:

1. Explain relationships among key components of curriculum design (course themes, teaching
objectives, course content, course learning outcomes, learning competencies, etc.).
2. Describe how examples of experiential or applied learning might relate to the specific course learning outcomes (CLOs) of a college-level class.
3. Differentiate structured course-based learning from experientially-based or independently-acquired learning.
4. Construct a complete learning portfolio suitable for review for course credit by a qualified faculty member.
