Center for Academic Progress
The Center for Academic Progress (CAP) is located on the second floor of the D building.
CAP provides academic support to students of all abilities and achievement levels through a variety of services:
• Tutoring in almost any subject area is available by signing up for assistance.
• The Assisted Learning Lab will help students learn basic computer skills and develop better reading, writing and math skills with the latest software.
• Students with disabilities come to the CAP for coordination of services in and outside of the classroom.
• The Testing Center is available to students in telecourses and for make-up testing. It also gives the college placement test and provides accommodation testing for students with special needs.
• Confidential assessment, referral and counseling services are available for students experiencing personal or emotional difficulties while attending GCC.
• CAP is home to the Student Support Services project, which provides eligible students with special services to help them complete their degree and/or transfer to a four-year college.
