Why Participate in Orientation?

  • to become familiar with your new surroundings,
  • to meet new people,
  • to develop your own ideas, and
  • to draw your own conclusions.

Many of you have been told all about Genesee Community College and what it is like. Many of you may have even visited the campus and have been shown around. These are perspectives of a friend or visitor, not your own. Your actual experience will be very different.

This is what ORIENTATION is. It provides you with an introduction to Genesee Community College and gives you a chance to develop your own conclusions and ideas.

While at ORIENTATION, you’ll also have an opportunity to get familiar with the campus and meet new people. All of this will make you feel much more comfortable with your surroundings when classes begin.

Whether you’ll be attending classes either on campus or on-line, ORIENTATION will help ease your transition and put you on the road early to a successful start to college.
