Student Activities Council

This student-run council works closely with SGA in planning, funding, and executing activities on campus. They sponsor a variety of fun-filled events for the college community to attend each semester. SAC’s three hallmark programs, which occur regularly throughout the academic year, include:

Lunchtime Live

Our Lunchtime Live program hosts professional comedians, musicians, magicians, hypnotists, or novelty groups twice monthly during the academic year. All students are invited to enjoy the live (and most always FREE) entertainment, which is held in the Student Union during Common Hour on Tuesdays or Thursdays.

Dinner and a Movie

Every second Wednesday of the month, SAC sponsors a free “dinner and a movie” night in the Student Union. The selected movies usually correspond with a theme of the month, as does the meal that is served “buffet-style” during the viewing. All students are asked to SIGN-UP for the event ahead of time in the Student Activities Office.

Cool Kids

On the third Thursday of every month, SAC sponsors Rochester’s “Cool Kids” program here at GCC, presented by Generation Cool. Each month features a different production that is full of interactive entertainment, geared toward kids but enjoyable for all ages. The shows are free, open to the public, and begin at 7:00pm in the GCC Forum.
