Genesee Community College's Public Safety Officers are here to ensure your safety and well-being on campus, and to provide you with friendly, courteous service. All Public Safety staff members wear uniforms so they are easily identified.

Feel free to call on the Genesee Public Safety staff at any time you feel in need of help! If you are witness to a crime, please call Public Safety immediately to report the crime, or use our anonymous silent witness form.

The GCC Public Safety Department was established in 1972, it was established to provide a wide range of services for the students, employees and visitors of the college, seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. No member of the college community should hesitate to contact us for assistance.

The Public Safety Department answers to the Vice President of Human Resources and Panning. The Department consists of Head of Public Safety, six full time officers, and eight part-time officers all trained, licensed to handle any and all calls.

The office of Public Safety responds to all calls on campus criminal or emergency. All officers have completed an A.A.S. degree or better and have experience in the field of law enforcement. All officers must be licensed by the State of New York under the Security Act, attend on the job training, first aid, CPR and AED training, and receive a minimum of 40 hrs. of continuous training each year to update their skills.

Public Safety is responsible of enforcement of all federal, state, county laws as well as all college regulations.
