Stop by the Library's Media Room to see a new Cartes-de-Visite display, courtesy of John Potera. This late 1800s Collection of Cartes-de-Visite (card photographs) shows the Victorian era influence and evolution of women’s fashion. During the 1890s, the focus switched slowly from the skirt to the bodice. As the skirts became plainer, the bodices exploded with layers and frills. Cartes-de-Visite were popular and often traded among friends and visitors.
