Lincoln Discovery Contest

Enter the Lincoln Discovery Contest!

“If Abraham Lincoln was running for President today,
what would his campaign materials look/sound like?”

Contest categories:

  • Campaign video  (max. length of 1 minute)
  • Campaign poster (8.5” X 11” only)
  • Speech (limit of 160 words)
  • Bumper sticker (maximum size 3” x 11”)
  • Political button/pin (standard sizes - 1.25"-3" in diameter)

Entry guidelines:

  • Videos must be posted on YouTube/Vimeo/etc. and a link to the video submitted (not the video file itself.)  
  • Posters, bumper stickers, and/or political buttons/pins must be submitted as .pdf, .doc, or .docx attachments or brought to the Circulation Desk in the GCC library.  
  • Speeches must be submitted as .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .txt attachments.  

No entry fee. Open to all ages. Enter as many times as you like, in as many categories as you like.

All entries must include the following information:  Name, Address, Phone or Email, Age category: adult or youth (12 and under), Brief description of entry

All entries must be received by Saturday, October 20th at 4 pm and must be submitted via email to lincolncontest@my.genesee.edu or brought to the Circulation Desk of the GCC Library.  

Prizes will be awarded in two categories: adult or youth (12 and under)

The library reserves the right to publish/display contest entries.  

Contest winners will be announced at the opening of the Lincoln Discovery Contest Display on Friday, October 26th, at 11 am in the library.  If desired, entries may be retrieved from the GCC library no later than Sunday, November 11th at 5 pm.
