Library Card - Genesee ID Card Information

Starting with the Fall 2005 semester, all Genesee students, faculty and staff must obtain a new Genesee Community College ID card. Your Genesee ID card will have a barcode on the back, and this barcode will work as your "library card," allowing you to access library materials and services.

To get your Genesee ID card, please read the directions below:

Directions for Students Attending a Campus Center:

Please visit your Campus Center office to obtain your new ID card. (Or visit the Batavia Campus office of Student Activities (B104).

Directions for Remote or out-of-state Students:

* This option is available only for students who do not attend classes at a campus center or the Batavia campus and live more than an hour's driving distance from a campus center or the Batavia campus, or are otherwise physically unable to visit a campus center or the Batavia campus.

Because you are unable to come to a GCC campus center or the Batavia campus to get a student ID card we will create a "virtual card" for your library transactions. In order to do this, you will need to obtain your Genesee Community College Banner student ID number. (All registered students have a Banner student ID number.) How to find out your Banner student ID number.

Once you have this Banner ID number, you will use this number for any library transactions that require an ID number or a barcode number.

Directions for Faculty and Staff who work at a Campus Center:

Faculty and staff may obtain new Genesee ID cards with barcodes in person at by visiting your Campus Center office or the Batavia Campus office of Student Activities (B104). Contact Nicki Lerczak (njlerczak@genesee.edu) if you have questions.
