Engineering Science
Job opportunities in most engineering specialties offer very good starting salaries and great potential for career advancement. As designers of technology equipment, consumer products, machinery, transportation systems and so much more, engineers' work settings are varied.
Genesee's Engineering Science program prepares you for a career as an engineer in research, product development, management and other roles. You'll supplement your class time with hands-on experience in Genesee's well-equipped biology, chemistry and physics laboratories.
After completing the A.S. degree, you can transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a baccalaureate degree in engineering. Genesee's program was designed in cooperation with engineering departments at several four-year colleges and universities in New York State. Contact your transfer school for its requirements and coordinate your course selections with your academic advisor and a transfer counselor.
Licensure: Most engineers are licensed. Graduates take the Professional Engineer (PE) exam after receiving their bachelor's degree.
Prerequisites: Four units of English, four units of social studies, laboratory courses in chemistry and physics, and mathematics through precalculus.
