Gregory L. Dalton, Esq.
Program Director
Gregory Dalton has over 35 years of teaching experience including more than
12 years teaching paralegal studies. His experience includes assignments at
the high school, two-year college, four-year college, and law school levels
of education. Mr. Dalton has taught a variety of courses, including Introduction
to Paralegal Studies, Criminal Law and Procedure, Real Property Law, Legal Research
and Writing, Business Law I and II, Trusts and Estates, Family Law and Civil
Litigation.
Mr. Dalton earned his bachelor's degree in Sociology from St. Francis College, his master's degree in Sociology from the City University of New York (CUNY), and his law degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. He has been an admitted attorney in New York State since 1983. Between the years 1983 and 1993, Mr. Dalton practiced law full time. In 1999, Professor Dalton was presented with an Excellence in Teaching Award.
John C. Gavenda, Esq.
John Gavenda has been a practicing attorney in Orleans County, New York, since 1982. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and his undergraduate degree from SUNY Brockport. He also was awarded an associates degree from SUNY Alfred. In addition to his extensive experience as a local attorney in private practice, Mr. Gavenda has been an Assistant County Attorney, a Small Claims Assessment Review Hearing Officer, a judge for Albion Justice Court, a Town Attorney and a Village Attorney. He is a member of the Orleans County, Monroe County and Erie County Bar Associations.
Mr. Gavenda also has been an entrepreneur. For several years he owned and operated a small business in conjunction with his enthusiasm for jogging and bicycling.
Karyn S. Bryson, Esq.
Attorney Bryson was born and raised in Western New York and is a graduate of SUNY Brockport, where she received her baccalaureate degree in English. Upon graduating from college Ms. Bryson taught reading and writing for 7 years in the Rochester City School District before attending law school. Her law degree is from the Southwestern University School of Law.
Ms. Bryson has extensive experience as a corporate attorney, with specific experience in contract analysis and land use. In addition, she was a Legal/Educational Consultant for the Fillmore Unified School District in Fillmore, California. Attorney Bryson also has experience supervising paralegals. She is admitted to practice law in the states of New York and California. In 2003 she was awarded the honor of Teaching Fellow by the Los
Angeles Unified School District.
