MET 101: Introduction to Meteorology
Credits: 3
Explores atmospheric phenomena such as the nature and variability of the wind, temperature, cloud and precipitation as well as the Earth?s energy budgets. Emphasis is placed upon the various terminology and tools that meteorologists employ to observe, study and predict storm systems, the development and movement of fronts, as well as thunderstorms and tornadoes. Includes a laboratory component to construct and analyze weather maps and charts involving surface and upper-level atmospheric soundings. Two class hours and two lab hours. Prerequisites: MAT092 or having met the College math requirement.
