Cooperative Education
Cooperative Education is a program designed to provide Genesee Community College students with the necessary support and resources, to identify and arrange for a practical work experience related to the student's major and career goals.
The primary objective and educational value of this program lies in the student's ability to assume and make all decisions related to securing a placement position.
These positions may either be paid or non-paid depending on the nature of the request, position, availability, scope of the position, and type of institution at which the student will be employed. A student may earn one, two, or three credits for coop experience.
