Frequently Asked Questions

I don't know what I want to study or what kind of job I'd like after college. Can I still apply to Genesee?
Absolutely. You can pursue a General Studies degree, which lets you sample different fields of study. And it prepares you for more advanced study -- or jobs -- in a variety of fields. General Studies, a traditional liberal arts program, is Genesee's most popular degree program. And remember this: if you're not sure what you want to do with your life, you're not alone. Most students who enter college have the same uncertainties.

Will my Genesee credits transfer to a college or university offering a Bachelor's degree?
The academic credits you earn at Genesee transfer to virtually any college or university in the United States. What's more, at Genesee we maintain formal transfer agreements with the baccalaureate colleges most widely preferred by our graduates. We have agreements with SUNY College at Geneseo, the Rochester Institute of Technology, SUNY College at Brockport, the University at Buffalo, and dozens of other colleges in New York State and beyond. These transfer agreements mean that you're easily accepted at both Genesee and the other college of your choice - sometimes before you even begin your studies at Genesee!
