GCC's CSTEP is a New York State Department of Education grant-funded enrichment initiative designed to:

  • Financial support

  • Promote academic distinction

  • Foster student independence

  • Enrich students’ college experience

  • Opportunities for historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged college students:

    • In pre-professional or professional undergraduate study
    • Majoring in math, science, technology, and health related fields (see full list)
    • Seeking professional licensure
    • A resident of New York State

  • Assistance with securing job shadows, internships, and research opportunities

CSTEP students will experience the summer bridge program, pilot research, participate in local internships and present at conferences (including the CSTEP statewide Conference).

CSTEP students will become strong leaders and highly competitive individuals either when transferring to a four-year college or university, or seeking employment.
