College Village provides 24 hour management and security. All Safety Officers have completed required security guard training including Red Cross basic first aid and CPR, equipped with complete first aid kits, and are licensed by the state of New York. Safety Officers provide escorts between campus and resident housing, acting in conjunction with the campus department of public safety. Safety Officers also conduct foot patrols of the entire College Village property during their shifts and enter each building during these patrols
Residents in violation of the Housing Regulations and/or License Agreement will be required to attend an inquiry meeting to determine appropriate disciplinary action. For more information on the process, see the College Village Housing Regulations and License Agreement.
College Village maintains a proactive policy toward providing a safe environment for our students. All officers are trained to anticipate problems before they manifest themselves and take action as necessary. The safety office maintains an open door policy and all students are encouraged to stop in with any concerns they may have concerning their security.
College Village Safety Officers are trained to provide the highest level of service possible to our students. We enable our residents to more fully enjoy the college experience without undue concern over their home environment through enforcing policies that support an academic environment.
