Genesee Center for the Arts provides sophisticated space for exploring the broad spectrum of the arts.
The acoustically sophisticated Stuart Steiner Theatre has 328 seats and was recently upgraded with contemporary lighting and rigging. The full size, well-equipped scene shop allows elaborate scenes to be fully constructed and transferred into the three-story theatre. Highly ornate sets have been created for productions such as Peter Pan, Clue, Alice in Wonderland, Noises Off and CHICAGO. The facilities also include a well-equipped costume shop, dressing rooms, dance rehearsal space, a music studio, well-lit drawing and painting studios, and a complete pottery/sculpture space with potter’s wheels and a kiln.
The comprehensive computerized drafting lab and the MAC graphics lab are fully equipped with industry standard CAD and Adobe Suite software for aspiring drafting majors and digital art students. And, the newest asset to Genesee Center for the Arts will be the all new Roz Steiner Art gallery, which will give students and professional artists a designed exhibit space in early 2011.
