Troubleshooting Tips

Steps you can take in troubleshooting your computer problems.

If you know your problem is with your username and password problems, that's relatively easy. Use the Technical Help Request Form and tell us what system you are trying to get into and we'll get back to you.

No matter, what your problem is, you'll save yourself some time if you can try these steps, since these are the first things we're going to suggest to you:

  • Have you tried another browser on your computer?
    • That is, if you used Internet Explorer, did you try Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com)? Or the other way around?
  • Have you rebooted your computer?
  • Can you go to other web sites (like http://www.google.com)?
    • Okay, if you got to this web site, you probably don't have internet problems, but it's good to check!
  • Have you run the Browser Check?
  • Have you cleared your browser cache?
    • Tools >> Internet Options >> Delete files
  • Have you tried another computer?
    • A different computer in your house, if you have more than one.
    • A computer somewhere else completely. If you have problems at home, try it at work (on your lunch hour, of course!) or at a friend's house.
  • Have you slogged through the Checklist for Login Problems?

If you've done all that and still haven't identified the problem from the Checklist, then contact us, let us know what you have tried so we don't ask you to do these things again!
