Software and Hardware

The pages in this section are general information about hardware and software at Genesee - what you can expect, what you might use and what resources the college has to offer.

If you're looking to purchase a computer, there is no one perfect answer to the question "what do I need?" but we do try to give you some guidelines. When you can, talk to the faculty in your academic area, especially if you plan to take classes in a technology-related curriculum. The faculty who teach classes in those areas are best suited to give you answers relevant to your program.

That said, we do give you some general guidelines that you are welcome to take advantage of.

Also in this section is information about instructional computer labs in Batavia and at our Campus Centers. We have a lot of computers available for you to use (actually, we're pretty proud of what we have) so be sure to check it out.
