ATTENTION GLOW EMPLOYERS

A grant opportunity has been issued by NYS DOL that will fund up to $50,000 worth of training for qualified employers to upgrade the skills of their current employees.  Please note:

• This is available to all private sector, for-profit, or not-for-profit organizations in NYS that employee 4 or more workers
  • It includes ALL sectors (healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, energy, agriculture, etc.)
• Funding will cover training for workers in specific occupational skills that lead to potential career growth and increased wages
  • Potential training topics include:  LEAN/Six Sigma, Blueprint Reading, CNC, CNA, Clinical Patient Care Technician, etc.  Topics will vary between industry sectors accordingly
• Applications for funding must be submitted no later than 4:00 pm July 20, 2009
• Trainees must be paid for all time they spend in training
• Contracts will be awarded for completion within 6 months
