Transfer Students

The following steps will guide you through the admissions process for transfer students. Feel free to print this page for use as checklist.

APPLY TO GENESEE
We offer several different ways to apply for free!

HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT / GED
Contact your high school guidance office to have an official copy of your transcript sent to our Admissions Office. GED recipients must submit a copy of their GED Score Report.

COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT
If you have previously attended college, please request final, official academic transcripts from each college you attended to be forwarded directly to our Admissions Office. (Students who are applying for financial aid must also request a financial aid transcript from each institution.)

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS
If you plan to register for at least six credits, please forward proof of your immunization against measles, mumps and rubella to the Health Office.

PLACEMENT TESTING
If you intend to enroll full-time, you are under age 21, and you have not completed six credit hours at Genesee that apply to your program, you must take either the American College Test (ACT) or Genesee Community College's Compass tests. If you've taken the ACT, please forward your score(s) to our Admissions Office.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW
Although a personal interview is not required for admission to the college, we encourage you to visit the campus for a tour, attend classes, and to have an interview with a member of the Admissions Office staff!

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

We notify in writing all applicants who have been accepted. However, if your application is incomplete, you'll receive a checklist detailing what we need in order to move ahead. That doesn't mean you haven't been accepted. It just means we need more information from you.

*Please note, if you are not applying online, please return your printed applications to:
