2007-2008 Season Wrap-Up
The women's swimming and diving team won their second straight and fourth in the program's history NJCAA non-scholarship division national championship. Prior to the national meet, the Lady Cougars placed second in the Region III Northeast District championships. During their regular swimming and diving season, the women's team placed first at two invitationals and second at another one.

The Lady Cougars received strong performances throughout the season from Alissa Andrews (Mexico, NY), Sarah Barr (Middleport, NY), and Bobbie Jo Passamonte (Corfu, NY).

Andrews, the team's captain, finished her GCC swimming career strong at the national meet. She finished in the top ten with CSCAA All-American swims in the 400 individual medley and 200 butterfly.
Sarah Barr, who began her freshman season at the start of second semester, was named the Northeast District Female Swimmer of the Year. She was well deserving of this award as she was the Northeast District Champion in the following three events: 200 individual medley, 100 backstroke, and 200 backstroke. Barr also broke three GCC school records in the 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke, and 200 individual medley.

Another freshman stand-out, Bobbie Jo Passamonte, was named to the All-Region III team. Passamonte was also the Northeast District Champion in the 400 individual medley.

Head Coach Scott Hunsinger was honored as Region III Northeast District Coach of the Year and NJCAA Coach of the Year for the second straight year
