    Women's Soccer: Fall 2009

    Program Overview

The women's soccer team competes at the NJCAA Division III level. The Lady Cougars are also part of the Western New York Athletic Conference. The team is highly regarded for its successes both on and off the field. Over the last decade, the team has competed in the Regional finals and has been nationally ranked as high as eighth. The Lady Cougars have won four Penn-York/WNYAC titles. Since 1995 they have placed eight players on the NSCAA and NJCAA All-American Teams.

Lady Cougars Soccer Rank 7th in the Nation!

After knocking off Region III A Division III top seed Herkimer Community College by the score of 1-0 to win the school’s first regional championship since the early 1980’s the Lady Cougars have broken into the top 10 national rankings, currently at 7th. The ranking matches the highest in school history for the women’s soccer program.

Head Coach Kelly Gillow has done an impressive job turning the Lady Cougars around this season after a slow start earning her Region III Division III Coach of the Year honors, along with three players being named to the All-Region Teams. Forward Chelsea Williams (Brockport, NY) was named to the All-Region 1st Team, while Forward Jessie Jaszko (Batavia, NY) and Midfielder Dzindzi Asamoah-Wade (Rochester, NY) were each named to the All-Region 2nd Team.

The Lady Cougars will head to the district playoffs to take on Holyoke Community College this Saturday, November 7th.
