    Women's Soccer: Fall 2009

    Program Overview

    The women's soccer team competes at the NJCAA Division III level. The Lady Cougars are also part of the Western New York Athletic Conference. The team is highly regarded for its successes both on and off the field. Over the last decade, the team has competed in the Regional finals and has been nationally ranked as high as eighth. The Lady Cougars have won four Penn-York/WNYAC titles. Since 1995 they have placed eight players on the NSCAA and NJCAA All-American Teams.

    Genesee’s Lady Cougars Finish 4th In the Nation and Wins Sportsmanship Award

    In Herkimer yesterday afternoon, our Lady Cougars Soccer Team fought to become third in the nation against Mohawk Valley Community College. Genesee lost the game 4-1 as they ended an amazing season, 4th in the nation, with a record of 11-9-3. Chelsea Williams and Jessie Jaszko were named to the NJCAA All Tournament team for their excellent play throughout the weekend. Genesee also was awarded the NJCAA Tournament Sportsmanship Award.

    Coach Gillow was very proud of her team’s accomplishments this season and is looking forward to making a run for the title next year are she returns 12 out of her 19 players.
