Men's Swimming & Diving Program Overview

The men’s swimming program at GCC is a member of the NJCAA Region III.  There are twenty men's programs in the country, ten of which are a member of Region III.  The men's swimming and diving team is on the rise at GCC.  They had their highest finish ever in the Northeastern District meet last season and are coming off back to back top three finishes in the non-scholarship division at the National Championships.

2007-2008 Season Wrap-Up
The men's swimming and diving team wrapped a successful 2007-2008 season at the NJCAA national championship meet. The men placed fourth in the NJCAA non-scholarship division at the national championship meet. Prior to the national meet, the Cougars placed fifth in the Region III Northeast District championships.

Individually, both Chad Brooks (Albion, NY) and Josh Sullivan (Horseheads, NY) had strong performances during the season. In his freshman season, Brooks broke two school records in the 200 and 400 individual medley. He also finished seventh in the 100 and 200 backstroke at the national championships. Also, performing well in his national's debut was Sullivan who finished in the top ten with CSCAA All-American swims in the 500 freestyle and 400 individual medley.

Head Coach Scott Hunsinger was honored as Region III Northeast District Coach of the Year and NJCAA Coach of the Year for the second straight year. He also received the NJCAA Dr. Jack Cistriano Distinguished Service Award.
