Men's Lacrosse
Head Coach: Dave Hoover
Dave Hoover joined Genesee in 2005, which was the first in the history of
the Lacrosse program. Coach Hoover served as the assistant coach for the first
season and is now the head coach. He brings nearly 30 years of experience
as a coach at all levels as well as a player.
Prior to joining Genesee, Coach Hoover served as an assistant coach for the East Aurora High School boys' lacrosse team. East Aurora was a Section VI finalist in 2004 and 2005. He has also served as the Head Coach at Niagara University, Williamsville North High School as well as for several club teams in Kenmore. He was a four year letter winner at Springfield College where he received All-New England Honorable Mention recognition. He was also named a tri-senior Athlete of the Year at Springfield after leading his team to the NCAA tournament in 1973.
Dave is an excellent strategist and teacher of the fundamentals of the game. With the experience and knowledge that Coach Hoover brings to Genesee the Lacrosse program will continue to develop significantly in the next few years.

Co-Head Coach: Derek Hoover
Derek is in his third year with the Genesee lacrosse staff and is looking to help continue to grow the program. Derek comes from East Aurora high school where he was the Head Varsity coach for five (5) years. In 2007, he led East Aurora to their first Section VI Class C championship. He is currently helping coach at Williamsville South high school. Derek is a 2002 graduate of Cortland State college where he lettered and played attack for three years, as well as, graduated with a Bachelors degree in Physical Education. Derek received his Masters in Education from Buffalo State college in 2008.
