    Men's Lacrosse: Spring 2010

    Program Overview

    Lacrosse was added to the list of NJCAA intercollegiate athletic teams at Genesee Community College in 2005-2006. The Cougars are now one of twenty six community colleges in the country that offer lacrosse as a varsity sport. There are sixteen schools within Region III Division III that play lacrosse. The team plays an unofficial season in the fall and competes in over 14 regional games in the traditional spring season. This program has been building each year and is looking to continue doing so. 

    Genesee Lacrosse Announces 2010 Captains & Schedule

    The Genesee Community College coaching staff recently announced their captains and schedule for the 2010 men’s lacrosse season. Awarded the honor of leading their team, Max Muscato (Williamsville South) returns as a two year captain and is joined by Loyld Chrysler (Niagara Wheatfield), Andy Cowan (Batavia) and J.D. Skura (Clarence).
    Max Muscato, a midfielder played in all 14 games last season. He scored 16 goals and 12 assists his freshman year and looks to build on those totals in 2010.
    Loyld Chrysler led the team in scoring a year ago as a freshman with 39 goals and 21 assists at attack. He returns to help lead the offense that looks to put up more points in 2010.
    Andy Cowan, a midfielder played in all 14 games last season, and is one of the team’s best all around players. As he looks to improve his offensive numbers, and lead the team in ground balls.
    J.D. Skura, a freshman defenseman and 2nd team ALL WNY Section VI high school selection last year, will lead the defense. J.D. will be counted on to match up against the opponent’s top attackman.
    Genesee C.C. schedule includes playing every NJCAA Region III team and is highlighted with games against the Region & NJCAA’s best; Onondaga C.C., Herkimer C.C. and Monroe C.C. Genesee will play all their home games on their new state of the art lighted turf field, and are members of the Western NY Athletic Conference and Region III NJCAA.
     

    Men's Lacrosse: 2009 Season Wrap-up
    The Genesee Community College Men's Lacrosse team finished their 2009 season with a record of 4 wins and 10 loses, but continued to make strides and develop the program in its third year in the NJCAA (full story)
    Genesee Athletes Make Academic All Region
    Genesee is very proud to say that Don Knavel and Cody Brawdy of the Men's Lacrosse team both were named to the Academic All Region Team for the 2008-2009 academic year!  Both of these students (full story)
    Men's Lacrosse fall to Herkimer in hard fought battle.
