2008 Season Wrap-Up
The lacrosse team had its best season in program history. The Cougars picked up the program's first win against SUNY Fredonia on March 15, 2008. The team went on to win five games and reach one of their 2008 season goals of winning five or more games. Playing against tough competition in Region III, the Cougars held their own and were able to come out victorious in three of their twelve games.

The Cougars had several players receive regional recognition. Cory Blackburn (Hilton, NY) earned Region III honorable mention and was also named to the WNYAC All-Conference team. The sophomore captain was nationally ranked No. 17 in assists with 24. Freshman goalie Coty Brawdy (Angola, NY) received Region III honorable mention and was nationally ranked No. 3 in goals saved with 286. The veteran captain Dan Page (Medina, NY) and freshman attack Tyler Stiles (Hilton, NY) joined their teammates as Region III honorable mention players. Stiles was also ranked No. 7 nationally in assists with 37.

As a result of the program's accomplishments during the 2008 season, the team was awarded the GCC "Quantum Leap" award at the annual GCC Awards Banquet on May 9, 2008. This award is given to the team that has shown the most improvement from one season to the next.
