Men's Basketball
Head Coach: Michael vonSchiller
Michael vonSchiller serves as the Head Men's Basketball Coach and full time faculty
in the Health & Physical Education Department at Genesee Community College.
Prior to his arrival at Genesee, coach vonSchiller had successful stints as Men’s
Basketball Coach at both Clinton and Onondaga Community College. At GCC the success
has continued as the Cougars have won 3 WNYAC and 2 Region III Titles. The team
also won back to back District Championships, which sent the Cougars on to consecutive
National Tournament appearances in 02' and 03'.
Coach vonSchiller has produced 4 Region III “Players of the Year”
and 4 NJCAA All Americans in the last 5 years, and the Cougars have become a
mainstay in the National Rankings. He was recognized as Region III coach of the
year in 03' when he guided the Cougars to a perfect 32 – 0 regular season.
Coach vonSchiller earned a Bachelors in Physical Education from SUNY Brockport,
as well as a Masters in Education from St. Lawrence University.

Assistant Coach: Terry George
Terry George came to Genesee in 2007 to serve as the men's assistant basketball coach. George originated from Buffalo, NY and is a 2003 graduate of Genesee Community College.
In 2006-2007, George was the director and coach of the LaSalle School for Boys' basketball team. While at LaSalle, he helped re-create the basketball program and mentor troubled teenagers.
George played collegiate basketball at Genesee from 2001-2003, where he was a vital component of one of the greatest stretches in GCC men's basketball history. He is a two All-American and all-time leading scorer in school history. George finished his playing career at a Division II four-year institution, College of St .Rose, in Albany, NY from 2003-2005.
George received a B.A. in History and Political Science from the College of St. Rose in 2005 and an A.S. in Liberal Studies from Genesee Community College in 2003.
