Facilities and Recreational Activities

Located on a sprawling 240 acre campus in Western New York, Genesee Community College boasts some of the finest athletic facilities in the region. In these facilities, the college offers a variety of recreational activities for its students as well special events for the community at large.

Facilities

Two softball fields, one baseball field, five soccer/all-purpose fields and six tennis courts comprise the outdoor facilities. Events from weather ballooning to the New York State Collegiate Rugby Championships to Empire States Games practices have been held on our grounds. 

Indoor facilities feature a six station gymnasium, fitness center, six lane competition aquatic facility, athletic training center, locker rooms and office space. Events ranging from color guard competitions to indoor soccer tournaments to high school sectional play have been hosted by Genesee Community College.

Recreational Activities

In addition to the intramural programs, the college has sponsored such teams as a cheerleading squad and a rugby team. The athletic department also hosts a golf tournament each year in the spring.

Many of the Cougar athletic teams sponsor programs like the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program, the Kid’s Night Out recreational program, and a number of different sports camps.

These programs are available for the youth of the region to learn fundamental skills while having an enjoyable experience. Each of these events also provides an opportunity to meet new people and enjoy the lifelong benefits of exercise.
